“Super Silkmen FA Cup ’26”pays tribute to the players, manager and owner responsible for the biggest upset in the history of the FA Cup. On Saturday 10th January 2026, non-league Macclesfield FC from the 6th tier of English football triumphed over Crystal Palace FC: a team from the 1st tier (Premier League), over 117 places above them. It is hoped “Super Silkmen FA Cup ‘26” will instil pride within the Macclesfield FC fanbase and help spur on the players in the build up to their 4th round tie against Brentford FC.
This version also pays respect to Ethan McLeod and Winnie Mayele: two Macclesfield players who passed away in tragic circumstances days before the match against Crystal Palace. Their names will live on in the hearts of Macclesfield fans forever, and also in this song.
